Made In Canada

Hoo-boy auctions are fun. Last night's specialty auction at Kilshaws in Victoria, British Columbia brought both thrills and disappointment for this nervous buyer.  There were many beautiful carvings, prints, and baskets to choose from… my reserve bid on the intaglio print at bottom was successful, my telephone bidding for the more expensive stonecut of the birds less so. Lost my nerve and it ended up selling within $100 of my set limit.  Oh well, live and learn.

Two birds, Summertime by William and Martha Noah, Baker Lake arts cooperative.
Shaman Holding Souls by Elisapee Ishulutaq, Pangnirtung, Nunavut, Canada.
